Micromax launches the YU Yureka Cyanogen OS and 4G LTE for Rs. 8,999

Micromax has finally launched its first ever Cyanogen OS based device from its new YU brand of smartphones, the YUREKA for Rs 8,999. The device comes after a lot of hype was created around the devicebeing launched and OnePlus being banned from importing more Cyanogen based devices in India. The smartphone brings dual-SIM and 4G LTE connectivity on a budget. It features an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 chipset, 2GB of RAM, 16GB of internal storage, microSD card slot, and a 2,500 mAh battery. The Yureka is equipped with a 13-megapixel primary camera with 1080p video recording and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera.

The specs appear to be formidable for a device of this price and the Cyanogen ROMs need no introduction. But if you don’t know about Cyanogen OS, it is a custom version of Android with stock Android UI but with a lot of added customisation options such as themes. With BATON app, which is developed by Cyanogen, users can backup and restore data. It also allows syncing app data across multiple Cyanogen devices and opening an app with the current state on another Cyanogen OS powered device.
